In music magazines we rarely see pages without ranking for more than two weeks, The Rolling Stone, NME, Mojo, Q, Kerrang and any other famous publications around the world show who, what and why it is considered to be the best. As a matter of fact, these lists can be useful references if they are appropriate and acceptable for some people. For me, of course there are always something special and like to specify them in the name of chart lists. However, there is no such deep meaning for me. I am a quite moody person so my music preference is not very reliable as I change my mind frequently. One day I would consider Muse as the best band in the world then two weeks later, I would decide to spend the rest of my life listening to OK Computer. Thus the chart is not as important as keeping my camera lens clean.

The Hives are from Sweden and this excessive cost-of-living country brings a lot of great bands such as Cardigans, Mando Diao, Peter, Bjorn And John let alone fabulous ABBA.Hives' revolutionary garage-rock was more striking and dimensional than the Strokes or the Libertines. Nevertheless, they were commercially far behind those two bands but why? Just because there are few good looking boys in the band does not necessarily mean they can not be popular... In fact there are a few funny face guys who look rather truck drivers than musicians but this is a good thing about the Hives and they even make the most of it funnily by wearing school uniform-like suits and playing energetically with serious-free attitudes.

This time, people at Hammersmith Apollo were treated with real rock'nroll by Hives and the circle areas almost fell down to the ground as most of punters kept rocking and dancing madly. Simply because their performance was extremely ludicrously ace and I am not too sure if there is any equivalently as good band as Hives in the world so far. Maybe there are some who I have yet seen. Even so, this is the second best live performance following PJ harvey in 2007. Course, I just mean it personally.
