When it comes to review my personal favorite artists I do tend to be quite subjective and I know I should not be if I really want to be a proper and professional so-called music critic. Well forget it, I have decided to write whatever I think and feel freely when I set up my own web site. Some might say honesty is the best way to critisise eh, describe something. For me, ever since I became a massive fan of Patrick Wolf both musically and characteristically, I am not sure if I try to keep a third party's point of view for him. No, no, no, I just want to emphasise how wonderful Patrick Wolf is in this tiny space from my point of view so feel free to go away if you do not bother to read.
Aithough I declared a fan of Patrick, I must say I have only seen him live twice. One at Astoria and the other at Glastonbury. To make things worse, I had no idea about his last two albums at that time. Even so, once I entered his beautiful wonderland which showed me what an art was meant to be I was totally intoxicated with it. Not only is he a fabulous singer-songwriter, he is also a great stage performer who is mighty on stage and knows how to express himself under such shiny lighting. He sings a song like speeching lines. He plays viola, ukurele and piano like a mother who caresses her baby tenderly. Affection for the music and sensitivity as a performer seems to have already been destined for Patrick and this possible truth enhances his charm just splendidly.
Tonight, he showed up walking on the virgin road not with his bride but with his viola in the small church in Brighton. Devoted fans who sit down at the front of the alter and look only teenagers look into his move almost without breathing and immersing themselves in the world of Wolf. These melodies and words brought by Patrick are the pure magic for these young people who are still allowed to daydream and the unforgettable treasure for those adults who have left them behind to live a real life. We fully understand the fact that he needs to be off the stage to take a deep breathe, but there are more to go see his winter shows called Finale in December. It is too early to say good-bye for now, Patrick.
