Klaxons

Brixton Academy

Okay, 2007 is the year of Klaxons. To begin with, their indie new- rave tour along with CSS and New Young Pony Club was a triumph. A lot of youngsters in Brick Lane wore glaring outfits like they did. They kept exploding themselves at Coachella and Glastonbury. Most of their concerts were completely sold out. How many people in BBC predicted this ordinary fun loving foursome become successful like this in 2006? Even Kaiser Chiefs could not predict. When I saw them live at the greatest lost venue Hammersmith Palais in last February I was totally blown away by their frenzied fans with glowsticks and
this chaotic sensation surroundings Klaxons. This atmosphere was a great impact indeed.

Then I saw them in May for the second time and this time the venue was bigger Shepherd's Bush Empire. First date I went was just a normal concert but with full of excitement and uniquely, the second date, the show started so early for those kids under 14 who are generally not allowed to go to late night's gig without their parents guidance in UK. Teenagers are very important supporters for Klaxons and this special treat for those youngsters must have tightened the strong bond between them and Klaxons.

Tonight, at Brixton Academy, something was strong with them. Excited people are all the same but Klaxons seemed a bit nervous and neither their beautiful harmonies nor enigmatic rhythm were brought. Every time I see them for the last 8 months, each performance was wonderful and thrilling, but this time at least first half one hour was too hard for me to stand to keep listening to this broken noise. Thanks to their royal fans excitement as always, klaxons got back their throttle to gear up again and these anthems like 'Gravity's Rainbow' and 'Isle Of Her' proved why they made their days in 2007. With this futuristic debut album as an arm , their new adventure for next chapter has just begun.
