Kaiser Chiefs

Earl's Court

To be accepted widely has two meanings. One means it is accessible positively. In another word, it means it has a certain lack of originality negatively. When it comes to talking about arts such as music and films we tend to use this sarcastic and useful phrase quite often. Kaiser Chiefs have been described as 'A very accessible band' since they debuted and indeed their next-door like appearances and attitudes for musicians are a key reason why they are so popular nationwide and what's more, even after having a huge success in their musical career Kaiser are still Kaisers who are far from typical indie rock stars. (Look at the frontman Ricky WIlson's swelling figure. This is the guy who once reminded us of Demon Albarn in his Blur era.) Their second album 'Yours, Truly, Angry Mob' sounded only conservative to live up to people's expectations. Yes, they sing 'Everything Is Average Nowadays' but believe it or not they are the ones who are representatives of average bands.

Do not get me wrong. Though I described them as average, isn't it true and aren't the band aware of that at all? I believe Kaisers know they are just a band who love music like anyone else and they are happy to be average. They never let us down at a festival nor at their own concerts. Tonight, Ricky entertains all the people at Earl's Court effortlessly and make those audiences from kids to adults dance and sing-along by providing mighty songs from their debut album. Even some new tunes were catchy enough to bring them enjoyable moments. However, it is true that this is just an entertainment for an family to have fun together despite they all have different music tastes because of their generations. This is the music that can be reachable for people who are not into music much and hardly buy a CD let alone going to see a concert.

Music has unlimited appeal. Of course preference depends on the person. Your father might still be a royal fan of The Rolling Stones. On the contrary, your mother has may never listened to music except ABBA. Then it is a chance to take them to Kaiser Chiefs' gig. If each of you do not have anything in common musically, you all will have a good time at Kaiser's world. In fact they are sort of becoming a family favorite band in a way. So why not? At least they will not waste your time or money.
